All photo galleries are available here.

Newer photographs were taken with a Canon 20D, 10D, and D30 Digital SLRs, and older photographs were taken with a Canon Powershot G1 or G2 Digital Camera (look at "Camera Settings" for each photo). I've just acquired the new Canon S1 IS Digital Camera for those walk-around times that I don't want to carry my heavy SLRs and lenses. Additional camera equipment includes a Speedlite 550EX and 420EX Flashes, 4GB and 1GB Microdrives, and most recently studio lighting and backgrounds. Lenses include the Canon EF 24-70 f2.8 L, 70-200 f2.8 L, 24-85 f3.5/4.5, Tamron 90mm f2.8 Macro, and the Tokina 19-35 f3.5, among others. Unauthorized use of these photographs is strictly prohibited!

Jazz study

This was taken at an outdoor concert by the Heartland Jazz Band near Bloomington, IL.
Best friends

Dana and her cousin on Easter Sunday in 2004.
My little girl

Another shot of Dana on Easter 2004, this shot in my parents' garden gazebo in Galesburg.
At Arlington...

In a walking tour of Washington, I stopped at Arlington National Cemetery at sunset and took some nice shots.
Saluting the lost

At the Korean War Memorial, I stumbled on a ceremony with Korean officers and the US Navy Honor Guard. With the fall colors behind nearing sunset, it was the perfect photographic setting.
Our Nation's Capitol

One of my favorite photos of the Fall colors at the Capitol in Washington DC.
At Starved Rock

Every year, we travel with our neighbors to Starved Rock State Park in Central Illinois for the color-change. This was an especially bright day.
Family...

At the first wedding I have photographed in about 10 years, and the first fully digital one, I was nervous. The day was great, however, and the couple was pleased with the results.
The couple...

Another shot from the wedding, this one by Lake Michigan in Chicago near the Planetarium. The groom wanted sailboats in the background.
Before the prom...

Neighbor kids were posing for pictures, just before heading to the prom. I liked this one very much.
On Easter Sunday

The kids were getting pretty sick of pictures by this time. This photo is of my two kids (on the right) and their cousin Emily.
A soft portrait

I like this cameo shot of Dana in a quiet mood.
An old barn

I have lots of photos of old barns near my house. This is one of my favorite subjects.
Another barn

Another old barn near my house.
A charming couple

I noticed these on top of an old building on Alcatraz Island in San Francisco.
Fighting the wind

A sailboat in the Bay near Golden Gate, was caught in just the right light.
Entering the Golden Gate

Another sailboat heading toward the Golden Gate Bridge, which can be seen in the fog in the distance.
My parents' garden

A panorama of 8 or more photos of my parents' elaborate garden. They're really fond of showing off this one.
My newest camera

I've always wanted to own a Hasselblad, and now I have one of my own. Some guy at work gave me an incredible deal, and I purchased two cameras from him. I took this one with my new Tamron 90mm 2.8 Macro lens.
My family!

By far, this is my best portrait yet... even my wife likes it. This was taken right after church on Easter Sunday, and I've blown it up to 11x14 for display in our home. I love this new camera!
Dana's swim

Taken in the Animal Kingdom Lodge Pool, Dana loves to swim. This shot was taken from a long way away with my 300mm telephoto lens.
Our dog, Gracie...

This is our cocker spaniel, who is nearly human in expression and moods. My wife treats her as one of the children, and this is her favorite perch... our new couch in the living room.
The Neighbors

This is a shot of my neighbors across the street. They wanted me to snap their picture before going to this swanky party. I think the camera did an excellent job!
Too Many Choices!

This picture has a film-like quality, like many of the photos I get from the G2. The lighting in this one is perfect... one of those priceless accidents.
Summer Family

A family shot while at some friends home for dinner. My G1 couldn't have taken this shot, as it had difficulty with intense backlighting situations. I'd always get purple fringing around the highly lit areas. G2 is great!
A corny one

I snapped this shot on the way home from work one night just before the harvest. I really like the colors and the detail that the G2 produces... this one is unmodified from the camera.
Sammy's Place

I had a few extra hours in Chicago one day, and decided to attend a Cubs game. Buying tickets off the street, I managed seats in the second row... the best seats I ever had. And to top things off, it was a BEAUTIFUL day.
On Grandfather Mountain

This is a panorama shot made of 7 or 8 photos that were stitched together on the computer. It was a breath-taking view, and this photo almost does it justice!
The Wonderful World of Color

I remember the old NBC Disney series starting out this way. This was a really lucky shot taken by standing the camera on a mini-tripod on the top of a dumpster. One big bang was just finishing as three started.
Palms in the sun

This was taken at Coronado Springs Disneyworld Resort in Orlando while on a business trip. I especially liked the detail and the lighting on the palms, as well as the color of the sky.
New Years Friends

This shot was taken on New Years Eve of a couple of friends. I just really like the color of this shot. It was taken with the Canon G1 and the 420EX flash bounced off the ceiling and the Lumiquest 80-20 for fill. Not bad!
Just what I wanted!

This is Ben on Christmas morning with his new Pokemon remote-control car. We had a little accident early when he was so excited, he ran into a wall (that's why he has the PowerPuff Girls bandaid on his forehead).
Dana's gift

My daughter, Dana, got this car from her Florida grandparents. Of course, it makes these annoying sounds, but that's a grandparent's obligation... to find the most noisy toy available, right?
Emblem

On a business trip in Reno, Nevada, there was an Antique Truck Show in the parking lot. I got this close-up photo of an old fire truck. I used the G1 and the LensMate with a close-up filter for the shot.
Jessica

I found these old negatives in the drawer, taken in the late 1970s of a high school friend. She was heading off to college and I did a model portfolio for her.
One of my first

One of my first photos, taken with my old Vivitar 35mm camera, and Tri-X film I developed in my garage. These were neighborhood kids who probably now have children of their own.
